In the public sector, Gemalto provides secure documents, robust identity solutions and services for governments, national printers and integrators in the service of citizens. Its products and solutions are deployed in more than 100 government programs worldwide.
We are now seeking a J2EE Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering group Government Programs team in Madrid. You will help public services go digital and mobile. You will be the responsible for the design, implementation and integration of software and hardware components to match the needs of Gemalto's worldwide customer portfolio for ePassports, ID-cards, healthcare documents and citizen biometric registration systems. Develop and validate the application set such as eDriving Licences and ICAO compliant applications, biometric match on Cards, IAS, PKIs and other government program applications.
A week in the life of a J2EE Software Engineer
You will participate in the design, implementation, security and validation of applications within a project team structure, in accordance with institutionalized processes and delivery standards.
You will analyze customer requirements, perform feasibility study, provide technical proposal, and contribute to project specifications requirements.
You will collaborate in all the documentation related to these activities.
You will follow-up the delivered project during warranty and support phase (Support Level 3).
You will be involved in pre-sales activities, like technical assistance to sales team, giving technical workshops to customers.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
To succeed in this job, you will have at least at least 5 years' experience of Sw Development.
You should have very good knowledge of: Java and J2EE, working knowledge of second programming language C# (C/C++, Python …). Knowledge of J2EE frameworks and libraries (Spring, Hibernate, JPA, JDBC, JSP/Servlet)
We are looking for someone who is detailed oriented has a very good analytical mind.
You should be willing to travel worldwide for workshops, integration and deployment in customer premises.
You are fluent in English
You have a Diploma/Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
